Endangered species

The water source area, which is the habitat of Andean flamingos, has gradually decreased in recent years. The reduced habitat makes it difficult to lay eggs and breed. As a result, the number of survivors decreased significantly, and it was said that they would become extinct in the 1990s. The population is gradually increasing in the 2000s. The current estimated population is said to be around 39,000. Andean flamingos are designated as an endangered species.

Breeding

Andean flamingos are so few at present that it is quite difficult for the average person to breed. There is no choice but to appreciate it at the zoo. Or go to South America.
