United States president’s pet

There have been many American presidents in history, and most of them have had pets. For American presidents, pets are said to be a secret weapon of rising popularity, and it is said that they are highly related to approval ratings. “If you need support, get a dog,” is a common saying in Washington. Almost all presidents have followed this advice, starting with John Adams, the first president to actually live in the White House. Dogs and cats are imaginable, but some presidents had other unusual animals.

John F. Kennedy

Former President John F. Kennedy is famous not only for dogs and cats, but also for having many animals such as ponies, canaries, hamsters, and rabbits. He is said to be quite an animal lover, and perhaps that is why he is also a very popular president.

Calvin Coolidge

30th President of the United States. Coolidge had not only dogs, but also raccoons, donkeys, hippos, lions and geese. During his presidency, the United States experienced significant economic growth and America developed.

Theodore Roosevelt

He is the 26th president. He kept not only dogs and cats, but also macaws, badgers, guinea pigs, snakes and birds. As a result, he was the first and only president to be awarded the United States’ highest honor.

President without pets

On the other hand, some presidents have no pets at all. They are James Polk, Andrew Johnson, and Donald Trump. However, with the exception of James Polk, it is difficult to say that neither of them has lived a fulfilling life as a politician.

Andrew Johnson

was president in the 1800s. At that time America was rocked by slavery. Johnson was a slave himself and a proponent of slavery, and was at odds with Congress, which advocated the abolition of slavery. He was impeached for dismissing his political opponent, Secretary of War Stanton, because he did not get along with members of the Radical Republican Party. In his Senate vote of impeachment, he narrowly retained the presidency with 35 votes in favor and 19 against. But as his rift with Congress deepened, he has since resigned.

Donald trump

Trump was the president who developed the American economy, but he was constantly attacked by the left. In the 2020 presidential election, a fraudulent mail-in ballot turned the tables and lost to Biden. With voter turnout exceeding 100% in some states, most of the vote fraud went to Biden. A series of traitors, led by his relative Mike Pence, left Trump completely isolated. Furthermore, in January 2021, there was an attack on the federal parliament by the Democratic Party’s own performance. This led to the impeachment trial.

Pets are guardian angels for the President of the United States

Pets are like gods to the President of the United States. Pets have even saved a president from a political crisis. Nixon was the Republican nominee for vice president in 1952, but allegations surfaced that he was hiding illicit political funds. However, Nixon said, “I received a gift. A small cocker spaniel in a crate sent from Texas with black and white spots and named ‘Checkers’ by my 6-year-old daughter Tricia.” And most voters remembered nothing but the image of the dog, and the scandal quickly subsided. In the United States, 70% of households have pets. For that reason, animals may be said to be the greatest good partners for Americans.
