Brasov is a city located in central Romania. Brasov is about two and a half hours away from Bucharest by train, making it relatively accessible. It is a very beautiful town that retains the streets of the Middle Ages, and many buildings remain because of its long history. Brasov is a recommended place for sightseeing because it is very easy to move around with excellent public transportation.

Brasov is said to have been inhabited by Bulgarians since BC. In the Middle Ages, the Ottoman Empire advanced and invaded, but in modern times it is occupied by Russia. In the 1950s the city was called Stalin City. The Romanian Revolution of 1989 caused many deaths.

Brasov is hottest around July. The cold season can be negative in January. The average temperature ranges from -9°C to 23°C.

A square in the center of Brasov, Romania. It is a plaza visited by domestic and foreign merchants, and it is a place where many citizens are relaxing with beautiful stone pavements.

Sightseeing Spot 2 : Tampa Mountain

You can overlook the city from Mount Tampa, which is located south of the center of Brasov. It takes about an hour to walk from the foot of the mountain to the observatory. There are restaurants and benches on the observatory, so you can enjoy the scenery while taking a break.

This castle is called Dracula’s Castle. It is also a historic castle that is said to have been built in 1377 and is located almost in the center of Romania. It is now open to the public as a museum.

The adventure park has a lake nearby and is a green park. Various outdoor attractions are installed, and routes are prepared for different difficulty levels.

The church is located slightly south of the center of Brasov. Built in the 14th century, it is said to be the largest Gothic church in Sylvania. Inside is a pipe organ with four keyboards.

This ski resort is located deep in the Carpathian Mountains. With a total length of about 24.5km, it is a vast ski resort with a variety of courses, each of which has lifts.

Sightseeing Spot 7 : Rasnov Fortress

Rasnov Fortress is a fortress located southwest of the city center of Brusov. Built by the Teutonic Knights, this fortress was used between the 14th and 17th centuries.
