Oamaru is about an hour and a half drive from Christchurch International Airport. At the airport there are car rentals, buses, shuttles and even taxis.
city bus
City buses are the cheapest means of transportation. It runs to the city center. If you have a Christchurch IC card called Metrocard, you can go to the city for 2.65 NZD.

little penguin

tourist attraction 2 : Bushey Beach
A colony of yellow-eyed penguins is also located here in Oamaru. However, since this place is not that large, it is better to go to see it as an extra. Early morning is the best time to observe. This is because penguins go out to sea early in the morning. In the evening, they come back from the sea to the land and hide in their nests. By the way, this beach is a protected area.
