Oujima is a small island in Okinawa Prefecture. Although it has about 900 inhabitants, it is known as an island with a large number of cats. History
Oujima is a village with an old history that is said to have escaped to this island and became a national university when the child of Tamagusuku Aji fled to this island when the Tamagusuku Gusk fell about 700 years ago. Originally, this island has a very nice natural scenery, and in 1964, it was selected as a tourist attraction in New Okinawa.

Cat
One of the characteristics of Ojima’s cats is that they are very accustomed to people. There are cats everywhere in parks and roads, but when people pass by, they come by. They are very friendly cats because they show their stomachs and pull their bodies. Of course, the cats here play with us.
