Habitat

Okapis are distributed in central Africa.

Characteristic

The okapi is 2m-2.5m long and weighs 200-300kg. Although it is a member of the giraffe, it looks very similar to a horse. The dark brown body has beautiful stripes on the front legs and the second half of the body. Inhabiting grasslands and rainforests, females are slightly larger than males, and males have two short horns covered with skin. Okapis, like giraffes, live in groups. There are few single actions. The okapi’s range of activity is 4km per day. Okapis have very good hearing and can quickly detect the approach of foreign enemies. Therefore, even humans cannot easily capture okapi.
