Endangered species

The flying foxes live mainly in Taiwan and Japan, but their numbers are declining overall. The reason is deforestation through land development. With the death of the forest, which is the home of the flying foxes, they are no longer able to live. It may be exterminated because it also comes to plant trees in urban areas and eats fruits. The flying fox is designated as a near-threatened species on the Red List of Okinawa Prefecture. The Ryukyu flying fox is designated as an endangered species.

Breeding

Habitats of flying foxes are declining, and their numbers are declining sharply. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain and it is quite difficult for ordinary people to breed. Watch it at the zoo or go to Japan.
