Endangered South American Species: Red-and-green Macaw
The red-and-green macaw is a parakeet that lives from Panama to the South American continent. The body color is red and it has a very flashy color. It is the most well-known and largest species of parakeet among the large macaws. The parakeet is not currently designated as an endangered species, but overfishing is progressing at a very high rate, suggesting the possibility of extinction.
